Dr. Woods is a brand that was first conceived by Van Woods, the son of Sylvia Woods, the founder of Sylvia’s Restaurant in New York City, and his long-time friend and business partner, Gary Greenhouse. The brand is deeply rooted in a commitment to family, community, and ethical business practices. Our goal is to create products that are truly "All Things Good." We promise to only offer products to your family that we would use for our own, and we are dedicated to using the best natural ingredients, free-trade practices, and sustainable production methods.

Dr. Woods was inspired to create high-quality skin care products sourced from around the world, but manufactured in the United States. Our first product was Black Soap, which is a unique all-vegetable soap made from plantain skins, a renewable natural resource. We also offer Fair Trade Organic Shea Butter, sourced from the Karite tree in West Africa, in all of our Castile and Black Soaps.

All of our products are cruelty-free, vegan, and free from petroleum, sulfates, parabens, and phthalates. We are proud to offer Liquid Castile Soaps and Bar Soaps, as well as Face Cleansers & Pumps and Travel Size options. Our Castile Soaps are made from natural, all-vegetable ingredients, and our proprietary blend of olive, hemp, and coconut oils is gentle and moisturizing for the skin.

We believe that "All Things Good" goes beyond just the ingredients in our products. It also extends to the way we conduct our business and how we support our communities. We do not conduct or commission animal testing, and all of our products are gluten-free.
